Watch the 2018 State of the Foundation

By Bonnie Rainey, Chair of Board of Directors

To our sisters, volunteers, and partners,

Thank you for supporting the Foundation this past year! Our 2017-2018 success would not be possible without you.

I want to express my thanks to a couple groups who went above and beyond in areas of engagement. To our chapter Foundation Chairs, thank you for your time and energy as you lead the way in our chapter fundraising efforts. Thank you to all the chapters and individuals who hosted a Bubble Zone to engage with our March of Dimes partnership. Last, but not least, thank you to our inaugural group of Steadfast Giving members, who continue to make the Foundation a priority every month.

The Board of Directors and staff are looking ahead and planning for the financial health of the Foundation. Our focus for 2018-2019 is to continue building a Foundation that is a stable and long-lasting support system for Tri Sigma. Our Sigma sisters and communities look to us to be leaders in philanthropy and service, and we want to continue to be those leaders for many more years to come.

With your help, we know we can achieve our goals. You truly make our mission possible!

In Our Bonds,

Bonnie Rainey, Alpha Sigma

As we celebrate Tri Sigma’s 120th anniversary, it’s your turn to be an advocate for our youngest Sigma sisters. Will you make a significant and meaningful gift to lift up a future Tri Sigma leader?

This past January, Collegiate Chapter Presidents attended our national leadership program Presidents Academy. Along with creating a plan for their presidencies, they developed plans for successful personal leadership using their strengths.

Leadership programs such as Presidents Academy provide training and education for our sisters to become future volunteers for our Sorority, experts in their field of study, and leaders inside their future company’s board room.

Make a gift of $120 to empower Tri Sigma leaders of today and tomorrow.

Presidents Academy Impact

96% of participants feel they can create a plan for their chapter presidency and successful personal leadership, compared to 66% prior to the program

Presidents Academy was hosted in Nashville, Tennessee on January 4-7, 2018. Read more about Presidents Academy and other Tri Sigma programs.

Your generous gift develops strong women ready to lead, that will positively impact the future success of Tri Sigma and the world.

The Foundation welcomes Bonnie Rainey as the 2017-2019 Chair of Board of Directors. She moves into her role after serving as secretary for the board this past year. A couple of her Tri Sigma leadership experiences also include serving on Tri Sigma Executive Council as past National Treasurer and on the inaugural Foundation Board of Directors as past Vice Chairman from 1992 to 2001.

Bonnie shares, “It’s an exciting time for me to be leading the board as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Foundation. I remember being at the 1992 Convention when we announced that Robbie Page Memorial Fund and the Educational Foundation would merge to create the Tri Sigma Foundation. While I know we will be looking back at the Foundation’s history for our anniversary, I cannot wait to move us forward.”

Help the Foundation Board of Directors and staff lead our philanthropy in the right direction. We appreciate your time and thank you for your continued generosity.

Dear Sisters

Jennifer Avenel as 2014-2017 Chair, Tri Sigma Foundation Board of Directors

At the end of September, the Foundation Board had its annual meeting at Mabel Lee Walton House. Being in our heart home, surrounded by so much history, is always so empowering, and I always find myself reflecting on my Tri Sigma experience.

I’ve been blessed and grateful to have had so many experiences since my initiation 25 years ago – and this annual meeting marked the end of one of those experiences. My term as Chair of the Foundation Board of Directors has ended. I have been so honored to serve our sisterhood in this role over the last three years. I can’t believe how quickly the time passed. I learned so much from other board and sorority leadership, and certainly from our dedicated staff. This opportunity has helped me grow as a leader and educate members about the importance of giving and serving, with the goal of cultivating philanthropists and future Tri Sigma leaders.

I am thrilled to congratulate and welcome Bonnie Rainey as the new Chair of the Foundation Board. Bonnie has a long-standing history with the Foundation. Prior to her appointment on the board in 2016, she served on the board during the 90s and has been giving generously to the Foundation since it was created 25 years ago. She has made philanthropy an important part of her Tri Sigma experience. Her Tri Sigma story is inspiring and I know that with her leadership, the Foundation will become stronger and continue to support the future of Tri Sigma.

I still have one year left to serve on the Foundation Board, and I’m excited to work alongside this talented and committed group of women. I am inspired by what the Foundation has accomplished, and I’m so proud of the direction in which the Foundation is moving.

For Sigma,

Jennifer Avenel, Delta Pi
