Epsilon Kappa hosts third annual Purple Gala to support March of Dimes

Epsilon Kappa members gather after hosting a third successful Purple Gala, raising $3,100 for the March of Dimes.
The Epsilon Kappa Chapter at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh held their third annual Purple Gala event to support the March of Dimes and raised $3,100.
The Purple Gala includes a silent auction, brunch and speakers. Chapter leaders said after the Tri Sigma Foundation and March of Dimes became philanthropic partners, they wanted to create a yearly event to raise awareness and money to support the March of Dimes’ mission. The gala, which is open to Tri Sigmas, their guests and members of the campus community, starts with mingling and looking at the silent auction items, then the brunch starts. After the brunch, two members who helped coordinate the event spoke about the chapter’s efforts to support the March of Dimes. A March of Dimes family also spoke, and brought their children to talk about their pregnancy journey, and how March of Dimes supported them. The event ends announcing the winners of the silent auction items and thanking everyone for attending.
Chapter leaders said the most important parts of planning a successful Purple Gala include finding an affordable venue, food, coming up with a head count/guest list, as well as coordinating the silent auction and speakers. The chapters raises money through ticket sales and silent auction items. Epsilon Kappa takes pride in being able to raise awareness and money for the March of Dimes’ mission. The chapter would be happy to help any chapters that are interested in hosting a similar event. Reach out to Chapter Advisor Kim Katz at kimdkatz@yahoo.comfor more information.
