Celebrate academic achievements during Month of the Scholar

February is the Month of the Scholar! Did you know that any Tri Sigma member who achieves a 4.0 GPA for two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters can receive a Scholarship Ring from the National Organization?  The Scholarship Ring Order Form is on the new Chapter Portal and the Education Director can complete to honor any members achieving this goal!

In honor of the Month of the Scholar, read more about how chapters are rewarding members who focus on academics:

Alpha Chi, Murray State University: The chapter gives out “Smartie Panties” every three months by entering the names of members who submit A’s they earned each week into a drawing for a Victoria Secret gift card. A’s that are submitted are announced in chapter meeting each week. The Education Director also hands out Smarties candies taped to a study tip at chapter meeting once per month.

Beta Epsilon, Western Illinois University: Beta Epsilon encourages members to focus on their studies by promoting good grades and recognizing members for their achievements. At the end of each semester, the education director recognizes the top 10 sisters who earned the highest GPA. For instance, one semester the top 10 members were awarded t-shirts to validate their hard work. The members enjoy these incentives and work to try to be in the top 10.

Epsilon Sigma, Virginia Commonwealth University: The chapter reserves library rooms every day for sisters to take advantage of library resources, as well as allowing members who are in similar majors to meet and study together.  Members submit the A’s they earn throughout the semester and they get a sister shout-out every week at chapter meeting. The chapter’s favorite incentive is that the two sisters with the most A’s at the end of the semester win a “Smarty Panty,” which include gift cards to Victoria Secret. Members who make the Dean’s List are gifted Sigma apparel.

Zeta Pi, Virginia Wesleyan University: Zeta Pi has many members who achieve good grades, so the chapter has made awards for members to encourage them to continue achieving academically. The chapter also highlighted sisters who made the Dean’s List on the chapter’s social media accounts. Zeta Pi also plans to make goodie bags to encourage everyone to keep studying and improving their grades this spring semester.
